Detailed description of our B&B: 

Our private accommodation is located in the landmark historic city center of Sankt Petersburg, just a few minutes away from the famous Nevsky Prospect. The exact address is 5th Sovetskaya Street No. 21. More detailed you can see this on our citymap.

The small private hotel is situated in the 2nd floor of an old three-storied house from the turn of the century (constructed in 1853). The main entrance to the staircase is in the backyard, what makes it a little bit hidden, but at the same time sheltered. Through a steel door with a mechanical combination lock which is common for Saint-Petersburg houses, you come up to our flat on the second floor.

The apartment itself is spacious and very light, with a floor space of approx. 120 sqm. The apartment has been renovated according to high western standards during the whole summer and autumn 2003. While remodeling, we have tried to compromise and to save as many original elements of the flat as possible. So e.g. we have managed to preserve old mouldings in almost every room and we have also restored the old floors.

There is a spacious entrance hall, with tiled floors and heated floor. It is especially comfortable in winter, when people come from the outside with cold feet and have to take off their heavy clothes.

In the entrance area near the wardrobe there is the internet corner with broadband Internet connection. Also we have Wireless LAN throughout the entire flat for those using their own notebook.

Since our house is an old one and we wanted to leave the original layout of rooms, we don’t have WCs or showers directly in the rooms.

There are 2 spacious bathrooms with a shower each to be shared by 2 bedrooms (in case all four rooms are booked at the same time) bathroom1 & bathroom2. one even has a window which opens to the inner courtyard. Both bathrooms have underfloor heating and are situated near the entrance area. For all those who prefer to have an own bathroom I would like to mention:

1. Quite often not all 4 rooms are booked. In such a case you can get your own bathroom and you don't need to share it!
2. If it is very important for you to have your own bath just ask me. Depending on the booking situation and season, I will find a solution and reserve a bathroom exclusively only for you!

In the middle of the apartment is a spacious, light kitchen, which can also be used as a common room. In the kitchen you can help yourself to coffee or tea anytime you wish to. You can also heat up the food you’ve brought or even cook your meals there. Besides a normal gas-stove there are a modern coffee/Espresso machine, a microwave oven, a toaster, a kettle and a fridge. The kitchen is also tiled and has underfloor heating.

Each room has a very nice height of 3,20m with moldings, two big windows and wooden floors. The design of the rooms is functional and unpretentious: pine furniture, white ceilings, pastel shades for walls and curtains. In rooms 1 to 3 you will find two single beds (90x200cm) and in room 4 a grand double bed (160x200 cm), bedside tables, a big wardrobe or a built-in closet, a mirror and a table with 2-3 chairs near the window. In room 1 and 2 additionally, you find a sofa which can be converts to a double bed as well. Please take a look at the photos.

In room 1 and 2, by satelites Hotbird and Astra, the TVs  receive over 500! channels. Room 3 comes without a TV and in room 4 you will find a TV with over 10 Russian TV channels.
